Gleichschaltung: The process by which the Nazi regime successively established a system of totalitarian control over the individual, and tight coordination over all aspects of society and commerce. One goal of this policy was to eliminate individualism by forcing everybody to adhere to a specific doctrine and way of thinking.
Aggravation of the class struggle along with the development of socialism: One of the cornerstones of Stalinism in the internal politics of the Soviet Union. It was put forward by Joseph Stalin in 1933 and supplied a theoretical base for the claim that ongoing repression of political opponents is necessary.
